Medical:

Providers on the health care team at Hyndman Area Health Center are ready to accept new patients and coordinate primary and preventive medical care for everyone in the family. Dr. Victor Felipa is the Medical Director and is an internal medicine provider who treats patients age 13 and older. Timothy Purdy, CRNP is a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner that treats patients of all ages. Elizabeth Claar, PA-C is a Physician’s Assistant that treats patients of all ages.

Dental:

Dr. Ryan Pensyl is the Dental Director seeing patients in the Hyndman office. Dr. Ashley Hudimac and Dr. Marcia Dieterle see patients in the Bedford office. All dentists perform general dentistry and preventive dental care procedures. This includes restoration and extractions, root canals, crowns, bridges and limited dentures. Registered Dental Hygienists Lindsay Robinson, Katie Smith, and Chelsea Mattson, assist with soft tissue management, cleanings and applying sealants (a protective covering on children's teeth).

Laboratory services: Lab tests that are processed at the health center include blood sugar, hemoglobin, hemoglobin A1C, urine pregnancy, urinalysis, and rapid strep. More complicated tests are sent out to a laboratory. Some tests can take several days, and Pap smears may take up to 10 days to process.

Sliding Fee Discount is offered for those who qualify. Based on your family size and income, you may qualify for a discount of 60 to 90 percent of fees charged for medical services and up to 50 percent on covered dental and counseling services. Some minimal charges to the patient apply at each visit. This discount applies to almost all services, but there are a few exceptions. Insurance carriers are billed first; then the discount applies to any remaining balance.
If you are interested, print out the application now, complete it, and mail or bring it in prior to your appointment. You must provide proof of income to be considered. The information is confidential. Those who receive the discount are required to reapply one year afterward or whenever changes occur in income or family size.

Patient Medication Assistance Program is a program for our patients in coordination with Pharmaceutical companies that help to provide patients with available medications at no cost to them.  Medications are limited to pharmaceutical programs availability and income guidelines.  Please inquire at your appointment.

340b Prescription Program is a federal program that requires drug manufacturers to provide outpatient drugs to eligible health care centers. HAHC has teamed up with The Medicine Shoppe of Sandy Lake, PA to offer a mail order prescription program for our patients. For self-pay and sliding fee patients this program can greatly reduce the cost of prescribed medications. This program accepts most insurance plans including Medicaid and Medicare and also has the $4.00 prescriptions.  Please inquire at your appointment for more information.

We value your confidence in our practice. We believe that your understanding of your health condition and active participation in your treatment are important parts of your overall care. Therefore, when a diagnosis is made or treatment is recommended, it will be thoroughly explained and discussed with you. If you have any questions, we will answer them as fully as we can. If you should have questions or concerns after leaving our office, please do not hesitate to contact us.
